hi,
I started fishing just over 6 months ago but have been faced by two problems.
1.Everywere i have fished i have only caugt tiddlers the biggest a roach about as long as from Q on your keyboard to P (unless you are using a netbook=) what am i doing wrong. dont really fish for species i just use floats weights hooks and bait but i only ce up with tidelers.
2. what sort of weather is good for fishing? sun, cold, snow , rain? i have proably been using the wrong stratergys

Fish size depends on where you are, bait etc..
Try looking in your local area for some fishing lakes, they always have a knowledge of what type of fish are in and what sizes they are.
If your after big fish, i would go carp fishing, which is what i do , biggest iv court being 16 pound.
I tend to fish with spam, its easy and gets fish, although patience is always a key point.
Make sure you use a strong enough line, you have to have strong enough line for the fish weight, but also not too thick to draw attention to it.
As far as times, it dependant on the fish, i always find sunny weather early/late evening is where you catch the most as the fish come to the top to feed, around 5-9 p.m
